Dear woman friend reading this, I’d like to introduce to you the newest member of the flock, Peaches. Peaches is a miniature horse and as her name suggests, she is very peaceful.
Earlier today, Cassie and Rowdy decided to see if they could get Peaches all worked up. Cassie didn’t mean any harm. She’s still a baby (goat). Rowdy on the other hand…well, let’s give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was just being squirrely.
It all started when Cassie was jumping around the pasture as usual, enjoying the sunny weather. She had already played with three butterflies and jumped with two toads and now she was looking for something else to do.
For once, Rowdy wasn’t being rowdy. He was sitting quietly in his nest watching the goings on in the pasture. He had seen Cassie playing with the butterflies and toads.
Suddenly, Rowdy was done sitting quietly. He was ready to be rowdy!
He scurried down his tree and over to where Cassie was playing leapfrog with a turtle, even though she was the only one doing any leaping.
“Cassie!” Cassie looked up from where she was currently standing on top of the turtle. “Cassie, did you see the newest member of the flock?” “You mean Peaches? She’s a beautiful miniature horse!”
Rowdy protested. “But she’s so quiet!” “She’s peaceful, like her name suggests.” responded Cassie.
“Let’s see if we can make things interesting in the pasture and stir things up.”
“Just leave her alone. You always want to be rowdy and stir things up.”
Rowdy wanted to be rowdy. But he also wanted to prove that Peaches wasn’t as peaceful as everyone thought she was. If he could stir her up, everyone would know her peacefulness was just a facade. And if Cassie didn’t want to help, fine. He’d get Peaches stirred up by himself.
Dear woman friend reading this, what do you think Rowdy has in mind to do to poor Peaches? Peaches is considerably larger than Rowdy even though she is a miniature horse.
“Hey! Quiet down! You’re going to ruin everything!” Well, that’s the first time one of the characters in this blog spoke to me. Seems like Rowdy’s rowdiness is building.
Rowdy notices a tree branch over Peaches’ head. He quickly and quietly gathered some broken shells and cautiously walked onto the branch over her head.
Peaches looked up and spotted Rowdy who immediately tossed a broken shell onto her head.
Peaches shook her head and looked up at Rowdy again. Rowdy threw another broken shell. Peaches shook her head and kept looking up at Rowdy.
Rowdy is getting a little frustrated. Throwing broken shells at the other members of the flock is enough to stir them up but it doesn’t seem to work on Peaches.
Being rowdy, not to mention a little squirrely, Rowdy decided on a bold move.
Slowly, carefully, he moved back towards the tree trunk. Then…
Dear woman friend reading this, do you think Rowdy will be able to get Peaches all stirred up or do you think she will remain peaceful?
What could Rowdy be planning? As TV shows of the past would say, tune in next time!
